Executive Transition Announcement

On behalf of the staff and Board of Directors at St. Vincent’s Health Partners, we would like to inform you that Michael Hunt has announced his resignation as President/CEO of SVHP, effective October 26, 2018.

Over the past five years Michael has worked tirelessly to build up and position the organization for a bright and successful future. During his tenure he has served as the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Population Health Officer, and most recently as the company’s second President/CEO.

Michael will be leaving to start the next chapter of his career at Navvis Healthcare, based in St. Louis, Missouri, as Senior Vice President, Clinical and Business Operations.

In response to Michael’s departure, the SVHP Board of Directors have met and named Colleen Swedberg as Michael’s successor. Colleen has also been with the company almost since its inception and has served in several leadership roles, including most recently, as the Vice President for Strategy. Colleen will be assuming the position of Interim President effective October 27, 2018 and will be working with Michael to ensure a smooth transition.

Colleen has a strong track record of operational leadership and strategic initiative, working with multiple teams in the continuum of care for accountable patient centered care. Her clinical experience and health care industry knowledge makes Colleen uniquely qualified and perfectly positioned to lead SVHP into the future and to continue the growth and success the organization has experienced under Michael’s leadership.

We thank Michael for trailblazing in Connecticut with the kind of necessary disruptive leadership needed to take the network beyond what was first envisioned as a PHO to become the organized delivery system it is today. SVHP will continue to grow and fulfill its patient-centered mission while also preparing providers across the continuum of care for success in new models of care delivery and reimbursement.

“Change is inevitable” Colleen says. “But we will continue to build on the success that we have had under Michael’s leadership and work together with our member physicians, flagship hospital (SVMC), and partner Skilled Nursing Facilities and Home Health Agencies to forge new and successful ways of collaborating to achieve the Quadruple Aim.”
