Can We Afford Value-Based Care Without Risk?

On Tuesday April 24th, several SVHP staff members (Edward Jones, Moriah Nelson, Michael Petroski and Colleen Swedberg) participated in The Connecticut Health Council’s forum which examined the critical importance of moving to value-based care models. As noted on CHC’s communications about the forum:

“The clock is ticking! The current system is financially unsustainable. New models of care delivery, focused on value and quality outcomes, must now re-shape the market.”

The forum included a lively panel responding to the issues of:

  • Access to quality, affordable care is at risk. Health industry leaders discussed the critical importance of moving to value-based care models now!
  • Contributors described effective and proven practices and strategies utilized throughout the State to shift from traditional fee-for-service to true value-based care.
