Important Anthem Online Provider Service (AOPS) Update

AOPS Changes Effective June 14, 2013 – Act Now for Continued Access to Member Eligibility, Benefits and Claim Status

Effective June 14, 2013, online member eligibility (coverage), benefits and claim status will be available only at www.availity.com. Please register and begin to access this information using Availity.

Physicians, their office staff and other providers can access information for Anthem members through Availity, one of the largest electronic health information networks that connect providers, health plans and practice management systems with essential real-time business and clinical information. Availity offers a wide variety of online tools that allow providers to access real-time information, including eligibility, benefits, claims and many other services, from multiple payers via one secure sign-on.

Clinically Integrated Platform

MedVentive Population Manager Project Status Report:  The MedVentive Population Manager data/system type document and data transfer workbook were completed on April 12, 2013. The MedVentive implementation questionnaire was completed on April 25, 2013.  The MedVentive project team conducted a WebEx Conference Call with the SVHP team on April 29, 2013, followed by an onsite visit on April 30, 2013. Data extraction calls with pilotsites practices will begin to take place the week of April 29, 2013.

 

SVHP Committees

All SVHP members are encouraged to participate in one of our committees. There are currently three working committees for you to consider:

Information Technology Committee: The Information Technology Committee assists the Board in overseeing the development of Health Information Technology Infrastructure and data management plans necessary to maintain high quality care and improve patient health. It meets the fourth Monday of the month at 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Population Health Management and Finance Committee:  The Population and Health Management and Finance Committee assists the Board in creating a population health strategy, managed care contracting, and fiscal and oversight duties. It meets the second Thursday of the Month at 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Quality and Utilization Review Committee: The Quality and Utilization Review Committee assists the board in overseeing, ensuring and improving the quality and appropriateness of clinical care, patient safety, and satisfaction provided throughout the organization, and in shaping a strategy to achieve a high level of health throughout the greater Bridgeport community. The Committee meets the third Wednesday of the month at 7:00-8:00 a.m.

Quality Sub Committees: The Quality and Utilization Review Committee has two active subcommittees; Quality Performance Assessment and Care Coordination. Each subcommittee provides direct effort to develop the infrastructure to successfully meet contractual requirements for coordinated care, and to achieve cost sharing (additional financial recognition beyond fee-for- service rates).  We are currently recruiting physicians for the Quality Performance Assessment Committee. Processes will be developed for physician compliance to and remuneration (if needed) to affirm our community commitment to quality cost-effective patient care. Educational Series
