St. Vincent’s Health Partners (SVHP) is pleased to publish this first newsletter, which will be sent monthly to our membership. The newsletter will be one of many ways that SVHP will use to inform members of activities within the Network. If you have an article you would like to place in the newsletter, please feel free to contact SVHP by email at info@stvincentshealthpartners.org

In addition to the newsletter, SVHP will be launching the website in early January. Your office will be contacted to confirm addresses and phone numbers, as well as other important information we will need as we contract with various insurers.

St. Vincent’s Health Partners Website

SVHP is ready to launch the website January 2, 2013. The web address is www.stvincentshealthpartners.org

The staff at SVHP will work diligently to ensure that all doctors’ names, addresses and phone numbers are correct. If your office has a website, we will provide that as a link, along with directions to your office. If you or your office staff wants to submit an item for consideration in the newsletter or the website, please submit it electronically to info@stvincentshealthpartners.org

Insurance Contracting

We are working to finalize the Anthem Insurance contract for 2013.We anticipate that we will hold a meeting in mid January to review the contract with members of the PHO, and finalize the contract by the end of January. The contract will be effective January 1, 2013 once signed. This will be the first PHO contract in Connecticut for Anthem, so we are very excited! It will have fee for service, quality bonus, and shared savings. Details will be ready in a few weeks.

We are working with St. Vincent’s Medical Center to develop a PHO contract, and will keep you informed of the progress.

Both Aetna and Cigna have contacted the PHO, and they are both interested in contracts for 2013 that go beyond the fee for service model. In discussion with both is consideration of shared savings for the first year.
